Obituary of Leonard David Davis

Leonard David Davis, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Born born February 1, 1936 in Providence RI to the late Theodore and the late Anna Davis,the family moved to California when he was 9 years old, after his mother passed away a couple years earlier. After serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict, Leonard returned home, earned a degree as an engineer and worked in quality control. A man of many interests and talents, Leonard was an amateur magician and a member of the Society of American Magicians. He played the Cello and recently started learning the ukulele. He also enjoyed Chinese and gourmet cooking, exploring the Paranormal, palm reading, astrology, watercolor painting and photography. He was a member of the Sons of the Desert, The International Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society, and even met the daughter of Stan Laurel. As the only person in his small town who was mechanically inclined, he was the person who others would come to fix their electronic devises with vacuum tubes. Leonard is survived by his wife Roberta Davis and his former wife Lucia Davis; daughters Anna Davis Tachner and Celeste Davis; brothers in law Alan Atinsky and Ron Smart; and nephews and niece Aaron, Shawn and Kristi, and grandchildren Emmet and Jonathan. He is predeceased by his parents and his sisters Doris Smart and Linda Atinsky. The funeral will be held at noon on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV.
