Obituary of Victor R Vaisbort

Victor R. Vaisbort of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on November 6, 2018 surrounded by his family [after a battle with complications due to Lymphoma]. Victor was born on November 22, 1954 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Oscar and Alicia Vaisbort. Victor was the loving husband, for forty years, of Judy Vaisbort and father to Matthew and Nathan Vaisbort. He was the big brother of Edward (Janel) and Ron (Audra) Vaisbort and Diane (Steven) Linke. Victor was a highly regarded physician specializing in Anesthesiology. He was an undergraduate of U.C.L.A., where he studied Biology. He achieved his doctorate at the Yale School of Medicine. Victor then completed his internship in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Michigan. He finalized his formal education in Anesthesiology at the University of Chicago. Victor was a member of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He practiced medicine in Las Vegas for twenty years and in Bismarck, North Dakota for fifteen years, caring for thousands of patients during his professional career. Victor was known and loved for his keen intellect, dry sense of humor, and as a man who lived in the present. He enjoyed world travel, cruising to France, Italy, England, Greece, and exotic places such as Russia, Norway, Antarctica, and Iceland. His next global adventure was supposed to be to visit India. One of his favorite things to do while visiting these countries was to enjoy their cuisine. His favorite foods included, chocolate, gelato, and pizza. He enjoyed food so much that he always carried his ever-present "emergency banana". To his wife, Judy, and friends, Victor was a "walking encyclopedia" as he was well read. He loved Westies, especially his beloved Lily, Newton, and Daisy. His colleagues in the Las Vegas and Bismarck medical communities knew Dr. Vaisbort as hardworking, professional, and serious about his craft, as well as a friend to be counted on for prudent advice and a good joke. He was incredibly well respected by surgeons, gastroenterologists, nurses and ancillary staff alike. His fellow anesthesiologists also respected his abilities, and enjoyed his friendship and collegiality. He was known as a dependable and conscientious physician. Highly intelligent, he always made every story or encounter more entertaining and interesting. Dr. Vaisbort's many years of training and decades in professional practice had served to make him a truly skillful and experienced professional anesthesiologist. The safety, comfort, and wellbeing of his patients were paramount to Dr. Vaisbort. Funeral service will be held at the Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131 at 3:00PM on Monday, November 12, 2018.
