I share your sadness. Tia Ana was my second mom. She played such an essential role in my early development. To this day I carry a piece of her soul in my heart. Ana's personality traits such as: kindness, patience, cheerfulness, and tenderness were outstanding; she helped shape my psyche into a healthy one. She was instrumental in helping me become a better person. Her imprint has made this world a better place. Tia Ana's uncompromising and righteous integrity, accomponied by her pleasant demeanor, plus devotion to Love, is what tipped the scale for the warriors of the good fight. She left a remarkable legacy. As good people whom she raised, her divine gifts live through us. We are lucky to have been sent to such a devoted spirit. I feel fortunate to have been under her care and tutelage at such an imressionable and young stage of life. She will be dearly missed, and although she has transceded, her spirit remains alive in those of us that were touched by her light.

Dearest mamá, [mi adorada pollito]
Our pain is deep and we are heartbroken. You are the light in our lives, the reason for so many of the things we did, the center to which we all gravitate. Your service was beautiful. You would have been proud! You had your beloved mass, your white and yellow flowers, your family united, loving together as you always demanded of us. We were together in grief, joy and, laughter. We were together to mourn the fact that we will not see your beautiful face, not smell the perfume you left in your haste to do something for us, we will not taste the delicious meals you prepared with such love, we will not feel your loving embrace nor will hear the sound of that gentle voice calling our name. Nothing will ever be the same, mom you are my greatest love and I miss you more than words can ever articulate. Nos vemos mamá, N

Seeing her beautiful picture brings tears to my eyes. Mom was one of the most thoughtful (of me!) persons I have every had in my life, and I will always treasure her memory. To all of the family, words can't express how difficult this time must be for you. Peace.

I hope that today brings
a little less pain and a
little more strength
to persevere and build on
your mom’s legacy
I thought of her today as I was
dropping off Matías and Abby
on their first day of school....
I thought of her compassion,
her kindness and
her unconditional love
- especially for children -
as I remember feeling loved and protected
whenever I was near her,
I wondered and hoped
to emulate and transmit that same feeling
to mine and all others
The melancholy of her passing
gives way to the deep satisfaction
and joy I feel when
I remember the happy cacophony
of our family get togethers and
seeing our parents at those moments
really be themselves
Tia Ana for me will always be
one of the giant cornerstones of my life
that I build on to be a better person
especially as a husband and a father
She’ll always be in our
hearts and minds and
Thank You
for sharing her with us

I lost a mother in law who was very special to me. I'm doing the best today to not cry so much because I know she wouldn't want me to...but I've been a part of your family for almost 20 years and we are all devastated. She will be remembered for her tender kindness and love for all things. A pretty and classy woman. Knowing you’re gone, it has shattered my heart into pieces. You were always doing things for others and adored your grandchildren and animals, especially birds. You loved unconditionally - to me you are more of a mother than my own mother ever was. I’m sad because today God chose to take you away from all your pain and your suffering. I know your in a better place. There are a lot of regrets I have and a lot of things I wish I would've said to you, my sweet mother-in-law while you were still alive but I didn't. So I decided to write them down with so many words unsaid, but I thought the underlying theme of unconditional love is an important one that needed to be shared.... I wish I did more for you. Planted beautiful flowers and watered them for you, doing little things that would make you smile. Wish I would have learned that Colombian soup-recipe that I will never know how to make as delicious as you did. I am grateful to know that we were able to spend your birthday together last month with you. We shared our laughter and I enjoyed your smile. I will miss you deeply in my heart, it’s going to be so hard to adjust my life without you but in my heart you will always there. I know it will take some time. I know you wouldn't want me to be sad or to spend a single moment missing you but I also know that you would want me to live my life to its absolute fullest. So, when I find myself missing you I will find something to laugh about, to embrace life like enjoying simple things, going places you would like to go to. Seeing things like flowers, sunsets or anything that reminds me of you because that's what you would do and to be strong as you.
I want to tell you how much I love you. When I heard you saying "Jai, you’re my daughter, god bless you my daughter." I will miss your words. I LOVE YOU.
