Obituary of George Einar Kuck

George Einar Kuck, age 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018. Mr. Kuck was born November 28, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late George and the late Charlotte (Schlegel) Kuck. He is survived by his wife Joan Frances (Longhway) Kuck, his children George Jr (Susan), Eric (Leslie), and Lisa Casas (Ernie); His step daughters Kelly Vidal (Clint), Erin FitzGerald, and Megan FitzGerald (Eric); His grandchildren Anthony, Maria, Danniel, Brandon, Melissa (Edgar), David, Madeline, Savanna, and McKenna. He was also survived by his beloved dogs Button and Bear, and many relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. George proudly served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He retired in 1999 after a long career with the EDO Corporation of College Point, New York where he served as a manufacturer program manager for many years. He was a member if the Farmingdale, New York Fire Department for over 50 years where George attained the rank of Fire Chief. He was a leading member of the Spring Valley town board where he was appointed president of the Las Vegas nonprofit organization Jaycee's senior mobile home park board of directors by the Clark County Commission in 2015. He was a progressive leader and powerful advocate for the 400+ residents until his retirement in August 2018. Memorial Service held in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 11 from 11:00am- 2:00pm at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV. Memorial Service will be held in New York on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Farmingdale Fire House, 361 Main Street, Farmingdale, NY.
