Obituary of Elizabeth Grace Chaves

Elizabeth Grace Chaves, age 84, of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. She was born October 2, 1933 in Koloa, Kauai and resided in Las Vegas for 23 years. She is the daughter of the late Manuel Perry Medeiros and the late Annie Dorothy Loomis. She was married to the late Joseph C. Chaves. Elizabeth was the owner and operator of a floral design business and a member of the Las Vegas Italian Club. Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Elizabeth was a Eucharistic Minister and CCD instructor at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Las Vegas. She is survived by her daughter, Zoe Ann R. Murphy of Las Vegas, her son, Russell L. Chaves and wife Cindee M. Chaves of Morgan Hill, CA; her grandchildren Courtnie M. Chaves, James G. Lafayette, and Brandon M. Welch; her siblings, Robert Medeiros, of Waianae, HI. Matthew Medeiros of Honolulu, HI and Theresa Warren of Bellingham, WA, her many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, loving friends, and her beloved angel, Lani. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Chaves; her parents Manuel P. Medeiros and Annie D. Loomis; her siblings, Harold Medeiros, Dorothy Nicewonger, Herbert Medeiros, Caroline Tavares and her son-in-law, Robert B. Murphy. Visitation will be Monday, July 23, from 5:00-7:00 PM, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr, Las Vegas where a Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose, CA, Friday, July 27, at 10:00 AM.
