Obituary of Thomas Lee Fisher

Thomas Lee Fisher, 67, of Las Vegas, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2018, in the company of his loving children. Tom was born on January 21, 1951 in Williamsport, PA to Harold H Fisher Jr. and Nellie B Fisher (nee Bausinger). He grew up with a sister Debra L Shaffer (nee Fisher) and attended South Williamsport Jr/Sr High School. After high school, Tom entered the Unites States Army where he completed two tours of duty in Vietnam and also maintained the Peace in Korea after the Korean Conflict. Tom was a decorated infantryman who loved serving his country, after proudly serving in the U.S Armed Forces for Twenty-One years, he went on to retire with the rank of Sargent First Class. Everyone who met Tom knew he lived his life to the fullest extent and did not hold back on life. He loved to live on his own terms, it didn’t matter what other people thought. He was rough around the edges; however, his heart was big. Tom was a proud Army Veteran who was committed to the country he served, and lived for his freedoms and liberties. After proudly serving our country, Tom returned to Pennsylvania to be close to his family and went on to pursue his passion of mechanics as an independent heating, ventilation and air-conditioning contractor before embarking on a fulfilling retirement, enjoying life with his grandsons in Las Vegas. Throughout his life, Tom met and befriended many individuals and left a lasting impression with many friends and strangers. Tom enjoyed reading, building miniature scale models and spending time with his three grandsons and watching them play baseball and football and was a very giving philanthropist. Tom is survived by his two loving children, Christina M Dwyer (nee Fisher) of Las Vegas, NV and Zachary S Fisher of Columbus, OH; the ones that kept him young at heart, his Grandchildren, William E Dwyer V (Eddie), Caleb T Dwyer, and Andrew J Dwyer (AJ); Mother Nellie B Fisher (nee Bausinger) of Jersey Shore, PA and his sister Debra L Shaffer of Antes Fort, PA. Burial Services will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 9:20 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
