Obituary of Sylvia Gail Hughes

Sylvia Gail Hughes, age 68, formerly of Medford NY, passed away January 16, 2011. Born on September 12, 1942 in Brooklyn NY to the late Jack and the late Yetta (Fakterman) Rubenstein. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and cooking, and was happiest when she was doing so to entertain family and friends. Her light touched many people and her daughters and grandchildren will remember her as the world's best mom. Sylvia is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Hughes; her 3 daughters, Jacqueline (Warren) Markowitz of Las Vegas, Lisa (John) Freedman of Mechanicsburg PA and Karen Hughes of Lake Ronkonkoma NY; a sister, Florence Casale of NJ and a brother, Sidney Rubenstein of Coral Gables FL. ; and 5 grandchildren, Morgan, Zachary and Abigail Markowitz of Las Vegas and Rebecca and Jordana Freedman of Mechanicsburg PA. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Dr., #104, Las Vegas, NV 89147. A graveside service will be held a the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton NY.
