Obituary of Yael Friedlander

Yael Friedlander, age 98, of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Yael was born July 23, 1919 in Baltimore MD to the late Isador William and the late Mary (Strolovsky) Friedlander. He married Adele Ruth Friedlander. Yael retired as a Master Sergeant from the Army after a 30 year career which began as a medic in World War II. While in the Army, he became a laboratory technician, led an international lab team doing malarial research, and then ran the medical lab as well as a blood bank for the Army's primary teaching hospital. Yael loved to be with other people and was very intelligent. After retirement, Yael worked as a realtor in San Antonio TX. He was very involved with the Disabled American Veterans, the Jewish War Veterans and his homeowners association in San Antonio. Yael is survived by his daughter Carin (Bob) Diane Bachant of Las Vegas NV and son Brad (Marlene) Friedlander of N. Chelmsford MA; grandchildren Carie (Brian) Whitehead, Leha Moskoff, Robert Bachant Jr. and Heather (Guy) Nason; great grandchildren Avi and Tessa Moskoff, Alexander and Laurilai Whitehead, Christopher Vittorino, and Joshua, Cooper, Madelyn and Makena Nason. The funeral will be held at 12:40 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. In leiu of flowers donations to the DAV (Disabled American Veteran's) or the JWV (Jewish War Veteran's) in his memory would be preferred. .
