Obituary of Bruce Raymond Field

Bruce Raymond Field, 63 of Cooperstown, ND passed away on December 12, 2017 in Cooperstown. Bruce was born on November 7, 1954 in Mars Hill, ME to Raymond James and Joyce Marie (Kinney) Field. Bruce served 20 years in the US Army. His jobs included Indirect Fire Infantryman, Attack Helicopter Repairer, and Vulcan Crewmember, and he participated in Operation Desert Storm. His awards included the Army Commendation Medal with 6 oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with 7 oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon numeral 3, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Service Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. Bruce retired from the US Army on September 30, 1992 and moved to Las Vegas with his family. He worked at the Imperial Palace as a Security Officer, then to Surveillance and Corporate Security. He worked as one of Ralph Engelstadt's personal bodyguards and traveled with him on his personal plane to locations in Mississippi, North Dakota and California. He enjoyed and was very proud to have had that job. He later moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota and eventually to Cooperstown where he was a helpful and valued member of the community. Bruce is survived by his son Bruce Raymond Field II, daughter Chrystal Susanne Field, former spouse Susan Alcazar Field all of Las Vegas, and sister Lisa Kim Field of Spokane, Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Joyce Field, and sisters Constance Urban and Patricia Kology. Burial will be on Friday December 22, 2017 at 10:40 AM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005
