Obituary of Sally Caroline Topoleski

Sally Caroline Topoleski, 84, of Las Vegas Nevada, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Born June 25, 1933 in Keene, New Hampshire, she was the eldest daughter of Clifford and Olive Spring. Sally has two sisters, Elizabeth Lydecker and Linda Dammeyer. The family settled in Hackensack where she attended Hackensack High School. On February 14, 1953 Sally married Thomas Topoleski and had 3 children, Thomas, Stephan and Joanne. She resided in Saddle Brook until 1991 and then relocated to Las Vegas. Before retiring, Sally was the Vice President of Operations in several banks in the New York and New Jersey area. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, Las Vegas weather and the company of family and friends. Sally had the ability to make people laugh with her sharp wit and unusual views on life which she shared freely. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Community and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Sally is survived by her loving sister Linda Dammeyer of Las Vegas, NV, her sons Thomas Topoleski and wife Debbi of Manahawkin, NJ and Stephan Topoleski and wife June of Saddle Brook, NJ; her daughter Joanne Sagaas and husband Brian of Vernon NJ; her grandson Thomas Topoleski, his wife Corinne, and her great grandchildren Elizabeth and Aaron of Barnegat, NJ; her nieces and nephews, Christie Cullors and husband Jimmy, Jennifer Lowrey and husband Chaviet, Amanda Rael and husband Philip all of Las Vegas, John Sparling and wife Susan of Pennsylvania, Luanne Cook and husband Frank of Billings, Montana, Kathleen Lydecker and fiancé Frank Villares, of Kearny, NJ, Gene Lydecker and wife Victoria of Kearny, NJ, her grand nieces and nephews Alexandra Cullors and Jimmy Cullors, Jennifer Sparling, Valerie Schoener, Laurie Welch, Emily Erdman, Zachary Lydecker, and John Lydecker, and many great grand nieces and nephews. So many others held a special place in her heart and she considered them family, especially John Hildebrant, her friends and the staff at Desert Springs Assisted Living, Las Vegas, as well as her small church community. Sally is predeceased by her parents, her husband Thomas Topoleski in 1991, her grandson Matthew Topoleski in 2000, her Daughter in law Donna Topoleski in 2005, her sister Elizabeth Lydecker in 2013 and her brother in law James Dammeyer 2014. A mass will be held on Monday October 9, 2017 at Holy Spirit Church in the Bishop Gorman Chapel at 3:30PM. She will return to Saddle Brook, NJ where visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 7 to 9PM at Kugler Community Home for Funerals, 311 N 5th Street, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery on Saturday October 14th. Sally loved animals and supported the ASPCA.
