Obituary of Malissia Foreman

Malissia Foreman was born on August 12, 1934 in Pickensville, Alabama to the late Rube Lang and Ella Gregory. She was one of eleven children and nine siblings which included James, Mattie, Ethel, Georgia, Edna, Elnore, Dennis, Sarah and Henry, who proceeded her in death. She was educated in the Pickens County School System and confessed her love for Christ at an early age attending various churches. The need to assist the family financially led her to leave her home town and seek out multiple jobs in Mississippi so that she could contribute monetary support to sustain her loved ones. While in Mississippi she married the late Alexander Powell. A divorce and relocation lent her the opportunity to meet and unit with Frank Foreman. To this union, two daughters, Lori Ann and Belinda Kay were born. Her Family, both immediate and extended, were her life. She enjoyed continuously spending time connecting with all of them. Her compassionate spirit led her to accept younger family members into her home and provide guidance. She dedicated countless hours nurturing her dear friends and neighbors, no matter how near or far. Although she had no pets of her own, her heart instantly grew to love and care for the pets of her children as if they were her own, most dear to her was Scruffy. She took great pleasure in the chore services of her personal home and completed several redecorating projects. Gardening was one of her favorite past times along with fishing on the various lakes and streams around Muskegon. She also invested her time with her income properties when she was able. A later commitment to improving her health caused her to engage in ambulation exercises frequently meeting friends at the local mall or neighborhood to walk. Later in life her failing health took her by surprise and led her to Las Vegas, NV where she was cared for by her daughter, Belinda and grandson Joshua while living in the community. Although miles away, a large part of her heart remained in Michigan where she focused on being a support to her other daughter, Lori Ann and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish wonderful memories; Two daughters, Lori Ann Foreman of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Belinda Kay Foreman of Las Vegas, Nevada; Four grandsons Christopher Frank Foreman, Joshua Marquis Evans, Alex Foreman and Gage Matthew Foreman; Two granddaughters, Alyssa Annette Foreman and Sophia Rose (Saree) Foreman; One brother, Robert Lee Collie of Cleveland, Ohio; Three special nieces, Jeannie, Eyvonne, Lillie Ann; A dear nephew, James and a close cousin, Bernice Smith in Mississippi along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, all of which she loved dearly.
