Obituary of Robert Harold Ober

On July 1, 2017 Robert H. Ober Jr. passed away peacefully in his home in Las Vegas at 74 years old. Bob, as he was known (or Bobby to his mother), was born in Rahway, NJ on March 30, 1943 to Marguerite and Robert Sr. After growing up in Rahway, Bob served in the Air Force during the Cold War, and then became the first of his family to go to college. He was a good student and was rewarded with a semester studying on a cruise ship that took him all over the world. While on board he met Nancy Ellsworth, and they were soon deeply in love. They eventually got married and had two children, Keith and Kevin. Nancy passed away on Dec 29, 2016 of auto-immune disease. Bob was many things: a 31 year teacher with extensive education of his own, a 3:05 marathoner with 25 finishes, someone who was always ready with a joke, a baseball nut, a philosopher. But most of all he loved his family. Bob will be deeply missed by Keith and Kevin and all of his loving extended family.
