Obituary of Benton Pierce

Benton Pierce, age 76, a 30 year resident of Las Vegas and Henderson, died Sunday, October 17, 2010. Benton was born November 19, 1933 in Providence, RI. He is the son of the late Max and the late Gussie (Parness) Pierce. Benton grew up in Providence RI. After graduating Hope High School he entered the Air Force and served four years. Benton attended Palmer College of Chiropractic then worked for the US Postal Service while living in NY and then settled in Las Vegas. Benton was a good family man, loving husband and father. He loved sports and followed all of the major sports leagues. He was also an animal lover, with four dogs and three cats. He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Pierce; children Joyce Jordan, Fred Jordan, Annmarie Jordan, Jacqueline Jordan and Dr. Michelle Jordan, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; two great grand children; brothers Milton "Mickey" Pierce of East Greenwich RI and Boynton Beach FL and Bernard Pierce of Warwick RI and Boynton Beach FL; three nieces, one nephew and one great nephew. The funeral service will be held 10:40 am on Wednesday, October 20 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV. Donations in Benton's memory may be made to the SPCA or Hadassah.
