Obituary of Jack Sheldon Nitzkin

Jack Sheldon Nitzkin, age 76, a 21 year resident of Henderson, died October 10, 2010. Jack was born May 27, 1934 in Chicago, IL. He is the son of the late Meyer and the late Betty (Phillips) Nitzkin. He married Madelyn Rochelle Berliner on June 20, 1965. Jack served in the Army during the Korean War. His career was in accounting. As a CPA, he served as Vice President of Finance for the Skokie Valley Hospital for 20 years. Jack enjoyed stamp collecting and playing golf. He was a true gentleman; a great man who loved his family more than anything. Jack was a 21 year member of Congregation Ner Tamid and former treasurer of the Temple and their Men's Club. He was also a founding member of the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Madelyn (Berliner) Nitzkin; daughters Ronna (Stuart) Timpa of Henderson, NV and Barbara (James) Bahm of Phoenix, AZ; son Aaron (Suzanne) Nitzkin of Davis, CA; brother Steven (Susan) Nitzkin of Chicago, IL; and grandchildren Sarah Timpa of Henderson and Meyer Nitzkin of Davis CA. He is predeceased by his brothers Donald Nitzkin and Stuart Nitzkin. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to a charity of choice. The funeral service will be held at 10:40 AM on Friday, October 15 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV.
