Obituary of Joseph Sheldon Levine

Joseph Sheldon LeVine passed away September 3, 2014. Born July 24 1958 in Columbus, Ohio, Joey was preceded in Death by beloved parents Sam and Rita LeVine. He is survived by siblings Arnold and his wife Wendy of Austin Texas; His brother Jack and sister Edye of Las Vegas; and his brother Ken of Columbus Ohio. Also mourning his passing are nieces and nephews Leah, Nikki, Aaron and numerous family members across the country. Joey was a 1976 Graduate of Walnut Ridge High School in Columbus. He migrated west with his parents and settled in Las Vegas in 1977 where they jointly owned a downtown sandwich shop called "Your Place or Mine For Lunch". Joey was widely known and loved in the Poker World as "Elvis Joe". He was a poker dealer for over 30 years, mostly working tournaments including the World Series of Poker. He loved singing, and spent years working and living his Elvis impersonation. He relished making people smile and laugh with his Elvis "shtick". Contributions in Joey's name will be welcomed at HELP of Southern Nevada - an organization devoted to solving and preventing homeless and mental health problems in Las Vegas. A Celebration Memorial will be held Sunday October 12th from 2pm to 5pm at the SLS (formerly Sahara) Hotel in the Story Tower Penthouse. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend and celebrate Joe's life.
