Obituary of Rosa Chemouny Hamrick

Rosa Chemouny Hamrick led a full life spanning over 90 years, passed away with her family at her bedside on November 20, 2017. She was born in Casablanca, Morocco on January 1st, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph & Mezziana Chemouny.  Married to William Thomas Hamrick the couple had 3 sons, Lance, Donald & Robert. They lived in Morocco as well as several places in Europe before moving from England to Moultrie, Georgia in 1966 shortly after Mr. Hamrick passed away. Armed with her charm, her remarkable ability to connect with people and her infectious smile, Rosa became well known in the South Georgia hamlet. Years later she, Donald & Robert would move to Las Vegas in 1978 reconnecting the family with Lance who had decided to come to town a year earlier. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Mezziana Chemouny; a brother Claude Chemouny; and two sisters, Emma Addi & Rachel Barcessat. She has two grandsons, Joseph Lance Hamrick (Lance) & Jonathan Thomas Hamrick (Donald & Jeanne) as well as five granddaughters, Danielle Rachel Chemouny & Alexandra Meta Speece (Donald & Jeanne); Kaitlyn Quinn Hamrick, Kara Quinn Hamrick & Kelsey Quinn Hamrick (Robert & Molly). She also has three great grandchildren, great granddaughters Bella Hamrick, Giana Hamrick (Joey & Laura Hamrick) & a great grandson, Soren Michael Speece (Steve & Ali Speece). Rosa loved to travel and meet people. Graveside service scheduled Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00am at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 N Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89101. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Make-A-Wish of Southern Nevada and Nathan Adelson Hospice.
