Obituary of Wayne Thomas Johnson

Wayne Johnson, 75, of Las Vegas passed away Thursday September 14, 2017 peacefully in his home. He was born on August 23, 1942 to Rita and Corvin Johnson. Wayne served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He graduated from UNR with a Bachelor of Science degree. Wayne led a progressive career in the Hotel Casino industry starting as a busboy and ending as Vice President General Manager, spanning northern and southern Nevada. He was a man of honor and patriotism. Highest on his heart was the love for his family and friends; making sure the people in his life were taken care of. Wayne was full of life, vitality, and an avid outdoorsman. Wayne is survived by daughter Kelley, son Chad, grandchildren Dylan and Jasmine. Funeral services will be held at Kraft Sussman Funeral Home (3975 Durango Dr. Suite 104) On Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 12noon. Following the service will be a Celebration of Life at Wayne's home. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at 8:00am in Boulder City at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Rest in peace, Wayne. It is hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
