Obituary of Ruth Kaplow

Obituary for Ruth Balaban Kaplow Ruth Kaplow, nee Balaban, age 88, of Las Vegas, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. Ruth was born December 18, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Philip and the late Rose (Gordon) Balaban. Ruth married the late Edward Kaplow in 1950 and they were married for more than 62 years. Ruth was a kindergarten teacher and then a learning disabilities specialist in the Hackensack, NJ public schools. She was a member of Temple Bet Knesset Bamidbar and a leader of the Sun City Summerlin Jewish Friendship Club speaker series. Ruth enjoyed sewing, ceramics, tap dancing, community theater, traveling, and making friends. She is survived by three sons: Dr. Seth (Chris) Kaplow of Bayville, NJ, David Kaplow of Petaluma, CA, and Rabbi Eitan (Dawn) Weiner-Kaplow of Skokie, IL; grandchildren Ayal, Joseph, Elana, and Ben. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017, 10:00 am, at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas.
