Obituary of Florentino Castillo Minglana, JR

Florentino "BOY" C. Minglana, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, passed away, Monday, July 31, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Kraft & Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Las Vegas NV 89147. Florentino was born on July 19, 1945 in Pangasinan, Philippines. He married the former Maria Bandong in Quezon City, Philippines on December 28, 1968. Florentino was employed by The Palazzo Hotel, Las Vegas, NV, where he was well recognized by his friends and colleagues as a very energetic and jolly co-worker. He enjoyed his job, and was very dedicated to his task. Florentino also worked in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Rice and Corn Administration, Philippines, Rubber World, Philippines. Above all, he was a dedicated husband, parent, father, grand-father, brother to his family and extended families. He enjoyed spending all his spare time, day-off, vacation time with his beloved wife, Maria, children and grandchildren. Many may not know this, but Florentino had a family van which he drove whenever he could, except to work. He drove to the bank, Walmart, CVS, Seafood City and Senior Citizen's Assistance Program office. But most important, he drove his grandchildren to school whenever he could. Otherwise, Florentino utilize the RTC as the best way to get to work, or other important places. Florentino is survived by his wife, Maria, two children, Lea Minglana Brillantes and Jay Bandong Minglana; son-in-law, Christopher Brillantes; three grandchildren, Gideon, Nathaniel and Gabriel Brillantes, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florentino Minglana, Sr. and Cleopatra Castillo.
