Obituary of Deborah Ann Hayes

Deborah (Debbie) Ann Hayes, 66, of Pahrump, died much too soon on Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was born on September 17, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio to Betty and Robert Dawson, who precede her in death. Debbie inherited her father's stubbornness and her mother's kindness. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Hayes, sharing 48 happy years of marriage. They met in church while in middle school, where Debbie successfully chased after Paul, and they were married on June 15, 1968 in Springfield, Ohio. She is also survived by her daughters, Kristal (Matt) Schmandt, of Pickerington, Ohio, and Kimberly (Joel) Spurgeon of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was known as Grammy to her cherished grandchildren: Emma, Ava and Ethan. She is also survived by her brother, Neil (Deann Ward) Dawson, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, as well as several cousins and other family members. Debbie was happily retired from the Pahrump Valley Times. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, and travelling. She was the life of the party and her cheerful laugh will be sorely missed.
