Obituary of Rodrigo Pagilagan Alaura

Rodrigo "Ding" Pagilagan Alaura, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 67 and joined our Creator on October 10, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was surrounded by family filled with lots and lots of love! He is survived by his nine children, Rodelynn Alaura Reyes being his eldest (48) married to Thomasito David Reyes, Laura-Lynn Alaura, Kathrina Kristie Cruz Alaura, Karlo Rodrigo Cruz Alaura, Pamela Nina Alaura Macapagal married to Emil Macapagal, Sharyn Anne Mae Cruz Alaura, Raphaele Espina Alaura, Rodrigo Espina Alaura III, and Rodmina Reyes Alaura, his youngest (7); adopted daughter, Karen Alaura Cadigal; and twelve grandchildren, Christopher Joseph Alaura, Cheryl-Lynn Alaura Miranda, Alexander David Alaura Reyes, Jonathan Rodrigo Alaura Miranda, Melissa Angelynne Alaura Reyes, Christian James Alaura-Huie, Selena Adelynne Alaura Reyes, Kalea Alaura Macapagal, Chloe Anne Cruz Alaura, Caleb Anthony Cruz Alaura, Harper Rae Alaura Macapagal and Athena Soleil Santos Alaura. Ding was born in the Philippines on October 22, 1948 and is preceded in death by his father, Rodrigo C. Alaura, Sr. and his mother, Petra Pagilagan Alaura. He is the second of five children and survived by his brothers and sister, Daniel P. Alaura married to Ester Alaura, Jesus "Jess" P. Alaura married to Judy Alaura, Rogelio "Roger" P. Alaura and Ofelia "Leah" P. Alaura-Malinis. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Ding was always known to be the number one go-to person when it comes to family. If there is a word that best describes a dedicated and caring family-man, then "Ding" would suit that just fine. He was always the life of the party, with a great sense of humor and was a great story teller. Ding was a man of wisdom, courage, kindness, and faith. His spunky and easy going attitude made him earn a vast amount of friends, who consider him one of the truest and loyalist friends they have ever had. He enjoyed playing golf, dancing to the tunes of boogie and swing, singing the hits of Frank Sinatra and Paul Anka, early morning coffee sessions, and talks with family and friends. A natural born leader, Ding excelled in any type of field he entered. Wise, courageous, strong, and firm can be used to describe Ding when it comes to business. But behind those traits, there was a warm-hearted, compassionate, people loving, God fearing, family-loving man, who was always willing to help and risk everything for the sake of his loved ones. The family would like to thank each and every one who became a part of Ding's life, most especially to those who prayed and continue to pray for him and his family. We also would like to extend our gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, who diligently cared for our beloved Ding. Ding once said, "When you help someone, you're not just helping them in what they need, you're also helping yourself. It's that feeling of satisfaction that sticks to you for the rest of your life." Everyone is invited to the viewing that will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 2:00PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft-Sussman Funeral & Cremation Services, 3975 S.
