Obituary of Juanita Bea Mersch

Juanita Bea Mersch "Nita" of Las Vegas, and formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA and Phoenix, AZ. passed away peacefully Thursday July 7th in Las Vegas, NV. With her family by her side. Her funeral Mass will be held 10am Monday the 18th of July at St. Joseph HOM Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Burial will take place at the veterans cemetery in Boulder City, NV. Those left to cherish Juanita's memory are her husband of 58 years Lee Mersch, her four children, James (Julie) Mersch, Valory (Wade) Simpson, Kathie Mersch, and Michael Mersch. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Ashley Simpson, Gretchen Mersch, Cullen Mersch, Taylor Mersch, Jonathan Mersch, Leah Simpson, Derek Simpson, and Keauna Martinez. She was also survived by one great grandchild Isabel Grace Mersch. Juanita was born in Iowa City, Iowa on February 16th 1936 to Basil Nash and Anna Sitinsky. On June 14th, 1958 Juanita was united in marriage to Lee Charles Mersch at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her grandson Sean Mersch, a son-in-law Paul Martinez, life long friend Sandy Plotz, and many other good souls. Mom had a good life, she loved God and people and that's all any of us are called to do. If you would like to do something in her memory, write a heartfelt letter to a friend. She'd like that.
