Obituary of Shirley Greenberg

Shirley Lenchus Greenberg passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the age of 98 (10 days before her 99th Birthday). She was a resident of Las Vegas/ Summerlin for 19 years. Shirley was born on July 19, 1917, to Morris Lenchus and Fanny Migden, residing in Bronx, New York. Shirley had one brother, Marvin Lenchus. She married Max Ervin Greenberg in Philadelphia on November 12, 1939 and was married for 54 years before Max passed away at the age of 83 years. The Greenbergs moved to Miami in 1945 and Shirley lived there for 52 years. She graduated High school and obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Miami-Dade Junior College. Shirley taught for a short time and then founded "Shirle Interiors", an interior design firm, in the late 60's. She and a partner designed and decorated many homes and condominiums throughout Miami and Miami Beach over 20 years. Shirley loved "Ideas", Classical Music and Jazz, Philosophy and Poetry, Good Novels with interesting premises. She was a lover of Judaism and ALL things Israel and a lover of art and sculpture. She lived a colorful life, both edgy and committed to traditional values. She had special friendships with a diverse group of people. Shirley is survived by her only child Michele Greenberg Kayden who resides in Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by one cousin and nephews and nieces residing in New York, Florida, and California, and many friends in South Florida, Minnesota, and Las Vegas. There will be a grave-side service for friends and family at Mt.
