Richard C. Kartel, 76, passed away January 27, 2018. Richard lived in Las Vegas with his wife Arla, sons Ronald and Steven, and daughter in-law Mee Lee. Richard was born in Chicago, December 12th, 1941, his parents Peter Kartel Sr., and Frances Kartel. Richard was the second oldest of five children including his sister Barbara, and brothers Peter, Fred, and Paul. He served his country in the army. Richard worked as a mechanic and later as a carpenter and could build and fix anything. On July 21st, 1968, he married Arla Mae Goldstein. Richard and Arla had two sons, Ronald and Steven, and shared a life full of love and happiness. Richard was a lover of animals of all kinds, specifically dogs. He had two Rottweilers, Shayna and Roxie, which were his pride and joy. Somehow animals just knew he was a kind spirit and gravitated to him. Richard is survived by his wife, Arla Mae Goldstein Kartel; sons, Ronald Kartel and Steven Kartel and his wife Mee Lee Yang Kartel; siblings Barbara (Tom) Staebell, Peter (Linda) Kartel, and Paul (Debbie) Kartel; and brothers In-law, Donald (Joy) Goldstein, and Howard (Susan) Goldstein. Richard is preceded in death by the late Fred (Elaine) Kartel. The family will be celebrating the life and memory of Richard on February 24th, 2018.
